We adore the big, fruity, spicy and sometimes earthy Zinfandels that to us truly represent the adventurous spirit of American wine making. To complement this oftentimes powerful wine, we have selected three cheeses up to the challenge, two of which hail from the hotbed of Zinfandel, California. Fiscalini Bandaged Wrapped Cheddar Limited Edition is made from Fiscalini's own milk and aged for two and a half years on the property. It is a wonderful example of the success of the artisan cheese movement in the US today. Rich, buttery and sharp, Fiscalini Farmstead Cheddar is a world-class cheese. Vella Special Select Dry Monterey Jack: Tom Vella began making cheese in 1931 in the Sonoma Valley of California. The company is now run by his son, Ig Vella, and is famous for its Jack cheeses. This Special Select Jack has all the same characteristics as Vellas regular Dry Jack, with its hard, pale yellow interior and sweet, nutty flavor. It is aged for a full year (as opposed to 7 months) to develop an even harder texture and more intense flavor. Moulin Bleu Goat is a smooth, tangy, complex cheese.It is a Goat Gouda style that has the added allure of streaky blue veins running throughout. We find this to have a huge, bold flavor, with good body and fantastic finish. The ideal blue for some fresh crusty bread and a generous glass of Zinfandel. Each Assortment comes complete with Trudeau Cheese Serving Set: The cutting surface is made from tempered glass. A wooden drawer is contained under the top of the board with 3 compartments holding a stainless steel fork, spreader, and a long blade knife designed with holes to reduce friction. Contains 1.5 Lb. of cheese. Board dimensions: 12" Diameter.
